Michael Rosenblat brings over 30 years of experience in representing health care providers and white-collar defendants (theft and fraud cases), in state and federal courts, whistleblowers under the Federal False Claims Act and related state statutes, and members of the military facing UCMJ or other adverse actions. He has represented an individual charged in an over $40 million health care fraud prosecution, a physician accused of operating a pill mill, and defendants charged with bank fraud and other federal crimes. He has represented innumerable individuals in state criminal actions and members of the military.

News and Publications: Mr. Rosenblat is the co-author of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, Employment Termination, “Prosecuting a Claim Under the Illinois False Claims Act.” He has spoken before groups concerning false claims issues, criminal defense, and search and seizure; appeared on the local cable show “Newsmakers” to discuss prescription drug pricing; appeared on “Fox News Live” to discuss the Michael Jackson trial, was a guest on the WLS Radio Rohm and Roeper Show to speak about the Rod Blagojevich trial; has appeared on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal concerning Medicare fraud, and in the Chicago Lawyer Magazine concerning the false claims act case filed by Floyd Landis against Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong. He has also appeared on WGN News.
Previous Experience: As Deputy Chief of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office located in Chicago, Mr. Rosenblat was a member of the global settlement team in which Walgreens agreed to pay $7.6 million to settle a False Claims Act case alleging that Walgreens, which is headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois overcharged states and the federal government by “short-filling” prescription drugs. As Deputy Chief Criminal Prosecutions, he supervised the assistants assigned to that bureau and as Deputy Bureau Chief, Special Litigation Bureau, he prosecuted False Claims Act cases on behalf of the State of Illinois.
In private practice, Mr. Rosenblat represented consumers in the Ford/Firestone Tire Litigation, Superior Bank underinsured depositors litigation, and Enron Securities Litigation. Mr. Rosenblat was also part of the prosecution team that obtained a $334 million judgment against Amerigroup. Amerigroup settled for $225 million. Mr. Rosenblat also represented the whistleblowers in another declined False Claims Act case filed in Chicago, concerning the off-label marketing of a prescription drug. This case also settled with a favorable result.
Mr. Rosenblat has successfully represented whistleblowers in, United States, ex rel. Perez v. Stericycle, United States, ex rel. Kennedy v. Aventis, United States ex rel. Tyson v. Amerigroup, and Illinois in the State of Illinois in United States, ex rel. Mueller, et al v. Walgreens. He has also represented whistleblowers in cases against Meijer and Chrysler.
Currently the Rosenblat Law Firm has several false claims act cases pending and or under seal. Mr. Rosenblat’s False Claims Act practice is nationwide, and he represents whistleblowers with knowledge and evidence of violations of the False Claims Act throughout the United States.
