The Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) incentive and protection program provides awards to individuals who supply information to the SEC relating to a violation of the securities laws. Individuals may be entitled to an award, if the information provided was original information that led to a successful enforcement action resulting in monetary sanctions exceeding $1,000,000. The award to be paid can not be less than 10 percent or more than 30 percent of the amount collected.
